The Trust is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 in response to the threat to demolish the historic eighteenth century Jones Log Barn. The Trust's mission is to preserve and protect historic and cultural resources in Tredyffrin Township for the benefit of present and future generations and to educate the public about the preservation and protection of historic and cultural settings.
A major attraction planned for Wilson Farm Park is the rebuilt Jones Log Barn as an educational history center. The Trust has initiated a fundraising campaign with a goal of $400,000 to rebuild the Jones Log Barn. The Jones Barn will be near the southeast corner of Wilson Farm Park. Visitors will experience the artifacts, as well as lectures, demonstrations, community functions and children's activities.
Many opportunities exist for you to help the Trust reach this goal. We are very excited to tell you about a special event that we want you to be a part of...an event that will be lots of fun and help us with our goal. The Trust's next big event, In the Mood - Jazz on the Porch & Dancin' in the Barn will be a wonderful evening filled with great live music, food, drinks and all the fun and laughter that happens whenever friends get together. Mark your calendar now for Friday, April 4, 2008. Check the event section for further details, sponsorship opportunities and ticket information.
All proceeds from the In the Mood spring event, Fall and Spring Lecture series and annual Historic House Tour go to the rebuilding efforts of the historic Jones Log Barn. The Trust has various levels of Membership and we ask that you show your support with the purchase of a yearly membership.
The Trust celebrated a very successful 3rd Annual Historic House Tour on Saturday, September 22nd. As part of Tredyffrin Township's historic 300th anniversary, the Trust Board was excited to be included in the official Schedule of Events. This year's tour included 8 of our beautiful historic homes in Tredyffrin. Houses included 3 18th century Revolutionary War generals headquarters, a 19th century post office and general store, an 18th century bed & breakfast, to name a few.
The Trust is already looking forward to the 4th Annual Historic House Tour scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008; several historic homeowners have already shown an interest in participating in the 2008 historic house tour. If you own a historic home and would like to participate in the 2008 tour, please contact us.
