Trust Sponsors Special Summer Camp Day!
Re-enactor gives summer campers marching demonstrations of the Revolutionary War soldier. |
In an effort to help the children of Tredyffrin understand what makes our township special, the Trust partnered with Tredyffrin Parks and Recreation to bring a special program to the summer campers. Trust Board member, MJ Orsmsbee organized the summer camp experience and arranged for the Friends of Valley Forge re-enactors to join the festivities.
The Trust sponsored a day of colonial living, introducing the children to the foods, clothing, the life of a soldier, marching, games, and weaving led by the Friends of Valley Forge. This special day took place at Teegarden Park, in the environs of the Jones Log Barn which housed so many of those very activities during Revolutionary times, the very barn the Trust is seeking to rebuild with our many fund-raising efforts in this, the year of Tredyffrins 300th anniversary! The Trust looks forward to making their partnership with the Tredyffrin Parks and Recreation an annual event with the summer camp program.
