3rd Annual Historic House Tour - A Great Success
The 3rd Annual Historic House Tour was held on Saturday, September 22 and deemed a successful Trust event by all accounts. Although morning showers and a cloudy sky threated the afternoon tour, almost as if on 'cue', the clouds lifted, the rain ceased as the first guests arrived at 1 PM for the house tour. The Tredyffrin Historic Preservation Trust was fortunate to have the sponsorship of Cedar Hollow Design Center on Yellow Springs Road in Malvern. Owner, Craig Postlewait restored this beautiful 18th century general store and oversees the operation of this very special one-stop design center. The Trust thanks Craig for his support and sponsorship of the 3rd Annual Historic House Tour!
Over 175 people enjoyed visiting 8 historic properties including 3 generals headquarters, a post office/general store, an historic inn, an early 18th century farm, just to name a few. Trust Board members served as docents at each of the historic properties and were aided by volunteers. Maxwell's Quarters at Valley Forge National Historic Park was opened for the house tour and guests dined on light refreshments in Maxwell's dining room.
