The Trust is a nonprofit organization established in 2002 in response to the threat to demolish the historic eighteenth century Jones Log Barn. The Trust's mission is to preserve and protect historic and cultural resources in Tredyffrin Township for the benefit of present and future generations and to educate the public about the preservation and protection of historic and cultural settings.
A major attraction planned for Tredyffrin Township is the rebuilt Jones Log Barn as an educational history center. The Trust has initiated a fundraising campaign with a goal of $400,000 to rebuild the historic Jones Log Barn. Visitors will experience the artifacts, as well as lectures, demonstrations, community functions and children's activities.
Many opportunities exist for you to help the Trust reach this goal. We are very excited about our successful spring fundraiser, In the Mood...Jazz on the Porch & Dancin' in the Barn, which was held at historic Cedar Hollow Design Center in Malvern. The wonderful evening was filled with great live jazz music, food, drinks and all the fun and laughter that happens whenever friends get together, and raised nearly $20,000 for the Jones Log Barn rebuilding effort.
All proceeds from the In the Mood annual spring event, Fall and Spring Lecture series and annual Historic House Tour go to the rebuilding effort of the historic Jones Log Barn. The Trust has various levels of Membership and we ask that you show your support with the purchase of a yearly membership.
The Trust is looking forward to the 4th Annual Historic House Tour scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008. This year's tour will feature 8 wonderful history local Tredyffrin properties and will span 4 centuries -- 18th, 19th, 20th & 21st. You may ask why a 21st house can be a featured stop on the Historic House Tour? The answer...this special house was created using materials from 5 historic barns, including a silo!
Buy your tickets now -- you don't want to miss this special opportunity!
